Japanese Porcelain Tray by Fukagawa. The tray is decorated with a man and a woman, each in period dress and wearing a hat, and in polychrome enameling against a gilt ground with geometrical motifs. Each interior corner of the tray in a gilt and blue cloud-form decoration. Japanese script on the surface in red over white. A blue sea-form decoration around the outside perimeter. Marked on the underside with the silver and blue Fukagawa foil label reading “Fukagawa/Porcelain/Arita/Japan/Purveryor to the Imperial Household.” Comes in a white and blue velveteen-lined presentation box with the Fukagawa mountain logo displayed on its interior.
