Item Description

Kashmiri Copper Samovar Kettle. This hinged double-lid samovar-like kettle sits on a burner fitted with an internal well into which hot coals can be kept for the purpose of maintaining the water in the surrounding chamber hot. The kettle sits on a flared open-work base which enables removal of the ash which has gathered from the coals. Its pierced globular body is embossed and engraved with a frieze of floriform motifs.
