Each of these embossed gold tone leaf-shaped clip-on earrings is decorated with three blue crystals and inscribed “Lanvin Germany” on their undersides. The four crystals are attributed to the Austrian firm Swarovski. Although these earrings were designed in France, they were produced in Germany through a licensing agreement as were the products of some other major haute couture houses. Founded in Paris in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, it is France’s oldest haute couture house of fashion. Jeanne Lanvin passed away in 1946, but the company remains one of France’s most respected leaders in luxury fashion. Although Lanvin has experienced several changes of ownership and leadership over the years, the Moroccan-born Israeli designer Alber Elbaz has led the company since 2001. These retro style earrings are unused as they were housed in storage for many years.
