Item Description
Pair of Hallmarked Candlesticks in Plated German Silver. Each of these candlesticks is fashioned in the rococo manner and is cast with fruits and flowers. A single candle cup with a removable nozzle sits at the end of its scrolling arm. The hallmark consists of what appears to be a simulacrum of the Sheffield crown, a Fleur-de-Lys, and the generic designation “PGS” used by some companies to indicate “Plated German Silver” (Nickel Silver) which is an alloy of nickel, copper, and zinc.
