Item Description
Sterling Silver German Necklace by Henkel & Grossé. This German necklace is decorated with a cluster of gold-tone pine cone motifs resting above six elongated .925 sterling silver rings mounted in an open-work manner. The name “Grossé” is inscribed on each end of the neck clip and a hallmark adjacent to “S 925” inscribed on the underside of the mount beneath the pine cone cluster. Henkel & Grossé’s jewelry was produced with clear and colored rhinestones, aurora borealis, faux pearls, lapis, and other stones. “Grossé” is the mark which has been used by the firm Henkel & Grossé of Pforzheim, Germany since 1938. This firm evolved into one of the major haute couture designers/manufacturers for Christian Dior and for other high end names such as Schiaparelli, Jeanne Lanvin, and Givinchy. Christian Dior Couture SA of France subsequently acquired Henkel & Grossé in 2005. This retro style item is unused as it was housed in storage for many years.
